Rathgar Chiefs Mens Hockey Club  (Posted: 04/09/2010)

You may have noticed there are men training at the same time as us on the adjacent pitch. They are the newly formed Rathgar Chiefs.

This is the first year Diocesan HC is in partnership with a mens club and we would like to welcome them aboard.

Pre-season 2010-2011 training in Diocesan HC  (Posted: 04/09/2010)

Pre-season training started in Diocesan Hockey Club on the 17th August 2010.

Matches start on the 2nd October so there's lots of time to get the eye back in.

Diocesan HC - celebtrating 50 years in 2011  (Posted: 04/09/2010)

Diocesan HC will be celebrating it's 50th anniversary in 2011 - we have some celebratory plans in the pipeline already but if you have any ideas please let us know. 

Also if you have contact details for old members we would really apprecaite it if you would send them on to us so we can co-ordinate invitations


BBQ & mixed hockey tournament  (Posted: 04/09/2010)

In partnership with the Rathgar Chiefs, our first social event will be on Saturday, 25th September 2010 - there will be a BBQ & mixed hockey tournament starting at 13:00 in High School. 

Friends, partners & family members are all welcome and we will be organising teams on the day.  We will also be inviting members of other clubs to really mix things up.

 

For Junior Hockey  to start the season off with a bang there will be a mini tournament for all the girls on Saturday, 25th September, from 12:00-13:00, in High School.

Social Event - Bowling & Quazar  (Posted: 24/02/2010)

Social Event Bowling & Quazar in the Leisureplex in Stillorgan

 When:Saturday 6th of March
 Location:Leisureplex in Stillorgan
 Time:19:00
 Costs:EUR 10,00

This is a great chance to bring along friends or colleagues who would be interested in playing for the club next year or even put in an appearance at training this year - so bring as many as you want!

It'll be a great night out and a chance to reinforce the team bonds as we shoot at each other in the dark! The night starts at 19:00 and will run till 21ish and then its off down the pub to discuss who was the best shooter and debate whether it is or isn't embarrassing to be in your 20's and still need the bumpers up on the bowling lanes!
 
Please give your name and EUR 10,00 to your team's social rep or directly to Kirstie on or before Wednesday, 3rd March, as we need to have an idea of numbers

Celebration of new pitches  (Posted: 13/11/2009)

Saturday 21st November is a momentous day for the club.

It's the first day this season that all 4 teams will be playing at home, on our new pitches, and we think we should celebrate!
 
There will be tea, coffee, cakes, biscuits and other goodies at the matches to mark this occasion.


Christmas Party  (Posted: 19/10/2009)

Our Christmas Party is a night at the dogs!

 When:Saturday 12th December
 Location:Harold's Cross Greyhound Track
 Time:18.30-19.00 to get in the first race

Social reps will be giving out the Mini Buster tickets and everyone must sell at least 2 - so that works out as one for you and one for a partner / friend. Of course you're not limited to 2, bring as many people as you like!  The tickets are €10 each and the ticket allows entry on the night and also a chance to win €150 even if you can't make it on the night.

Wednesday 4th November

We're having a social evening in Colmans - so head down for an hour or two to re-hydrate after training!  and don't worry about your attire as we'll all be in the same boat!


Junior Hockey Training Update  (Posted: 19/10/2009)

Training schedule:

 Friday 23rd October:Bank Holiday weekend - No training
 Friday 30th October:Special Halloween Hockey - come dressed up! Prizes for the best dressed, Halloween games and lots of fun.

Training as usual, so make sure you can still wear shin guards and gumshields!

Please let one of the coaches know if your child is allergic to a particular food.

All girls between 8 and 12 years are welcome to join our New Junior Hockey Club which will run from September 2009 to March 2010.

This new club could be for you if you would like to avail of top level coaching, meet new friends, be part of a team, learn new skills and above all HAVE FUN!

 When:Friday Night 6.30 - 8.30 p.m.
 Where:High School Rathgar
 Cost:€100 (Includes Club Hoodie)

You will need a hockey stick, gum shield, runners, shin guards and a drink.
